We know that stress affects conception rates; Does under stress will have lower conception rates and can be as low as 20%. Tranquilized does have better conception rates - up to 80%. This is why we still tranquilize our doe instead of using chutes. Tranquilizing also prevents injuries while handling during the ai process and allows us to safely examine the animals.
We also believe that the fawns should remain with their mothers rather than being removed from their mother's care and bottle fed. We believe that they need to breast feed until weaned by their mothers. This way they are raised the way mother nature intended them to be as well they can acquire all nutrients from their mother's breast milk. We also believe that these are wild animals and should remain that way.
